People complain about glitches and crap driving people away from this game but I truly believe a major factor pushing people from this game is the fact that a lot of players will choose to screw over the people on their team by not making a solid effort at the matches they are in.
When these people decide to play it safe because the competition is tough they really **** up the match. Newberries don't have the experience in this game to know why some matches are complete disasters but I have played this game enough to know what is going on and to know what people are doing as opposed to what they should be doing.
A lot of people in this game need to HTFU.
I am very disappointed right now.
I actually talked with some FA about this last night.
I asked if we were going into a pub or an FW.
"We're going into FW Ghost, you can't get fights in pubs".
"Like are the timers too long nowadays?"
"Not that, its that they see like, two FA and half the team afk's, leaves, or just doesn't fight. At least in FW people put up a fight sometimes. I think its because you have to win if you want anything out of it."
People are terrified of having an actual fight, I swear. I've stayed in FA for the family and fights, because I know FA are nothing but egotistical manics.
If we see 6 FA on the other side you know what we try to do? We LOOK to kill each other. We WANT to stomp them into the ground. You'd never hear the end of it if you left the fight. Hell, we teamkill each other in PC's when the enemy doesn't show. We give each other crap about leaderboard positions even when we win a PC.
And more than a few top tier corps are like that. You want to know what builds strength? ADVERSITY.
To everyone who decides to leave a match instead of fighting to the bitter end, I hope you enjoy it. You'll probably be stuck at the same situations for your entire dust career.
Stop trying to get CCP to fix all of your "skill based problems". Try improving yourself as well.
DISCALIMER: I don't encourage matchmaker leading lambs to the slaughter however.
I would love a tier based skill system with an ELO that you can see. Everyone would be matched against groups within one "step" of their current rank. In short, you would have people one step below you, and above you in every match. For every match the low guy gets stuck with people 1-2 ranks above him, he would have matches where he was 1-2 steps above everyone else.
Re-Retired PC Scout. I miss the old days ;_;
